Matthew grew up in the rural lakes region of Western Maine and now lives in Bridgton, Maine, with his wife Emily and their two young kiddos. He began his acting career later in life after earning a college degree in Finance and English. Before acting, Matt played semi-professional football and worked as a banker in Portland, Maine.
His journey started in community theater in Western Maine, where he discovered his true passion for acting. Over the past 18 years, he has performed on numerous stages throughout New England, as well as in television and film. Grateful for every role, Matt balances his time between acting, photography, beekeeping, and being a dad to Rowan and Leo—his favorite role of all.
When he’s not acting, Matt owns Thrive Consulting & Capital, a financial consulting company that supports creatives, artists, and small businesses. He has worked with clients such as Oxbow Brewing Company and Tinder Hearth Woodfired Pizza & Bread, helping them to create and share beautiful products with the world. Additionally, he serves as the president of the Norway Maine Opera House nonprofit group in Norway, Maine, which is focused on renovating a 130-year-old, 500-seat opera house with the goal of fostering art, performance, and community engagement in the town’s vibrant downtown center.
